W4436 SCARCE CONFIGURATION WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 RIFLE IN 38 WCF [M]

$11,750.00

W4436 SCARCE CONFIGURATION WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 RIFLE IN 38 WCF; Special order extra length 26 inch half round/half octagon barrel chambered in 38 WCF caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. Sights include a Lyman beaded blade front and typical sporting rear with a Lyman combination peep folding tang sight. Most thinning barrel blue remains with some edge wear to the edges. Half length magazine. Receiver retains about 75% original blue while the hammer and lever have traces of case colors. Most nitre blue remains on the loading gate. Very crisp functioning action. Special order plain pistolgrip walnut stock set is in fine condition with scattered light scratches from use. Also features a shotgun butt with hard rubber buttplate. Comes with a Factory letter stating configuration and 1904 manufacture date. These special ordered non-deluxe rifles are pretty scarce. Most of the pistolgrip stocks would have been on deluxe wood with checkering, so a straight grain and uncheckered stock is quite rare. This Winchester was ordered by someone who knew exactly what they wanted and didn’t want to pay for anything they didn’t need. A fine addition to any Winchester collection!
