W2MERZ ONE OF A KIND SPECIAL ORDER FACTORY ENGRAVED LO-WALL TAKEDOWN SPORTING RIFLE; A very unusual gun. Features custom checkering that is similar to the F style checkering. Pistol grip carved stocks. Has a Swiss buttplate which is longer than most I have seen. Buttplate is also engraved. The takedown ring is engraved as well. Receiver is engraved in Winchester pattern #7 and done by Stokes. Gun has a 28 inch barrel. The #1 barrel is chambered for 22 Long rifle. Sights include windage adjustable front sight and Pope style rear tang sight. Also fitted with scope blocks and a Winchester A5 scope. Gun is in beautiful condition with most all blue remaining as well as most stock varnish intact. Shows very little wear. It is pictured Wilson’s Engraving book 2nd Edition page 291 as well as Campbell’s Winchester Single Shot book page 174-175. Well documented and was formerly in Woody Frey’s collection. It would be hard to improve upon this one of a kind beautiful gun!
