MSG1167 CASED BEAUTIFUL FRENCH PERCUSSION DOUBLE SHOTGUN BY LOUIS MALHERBE; 16 Bore 31 inch barrels with bright excellent bores. The barrels retain very nice damascus patterns with maker name inlaid in gold on the rib “LOUIS MALHERBE A MARSEILLE”. The lockplates exhibit 98% vivid color case color with the maker’s name inlaid in gold. All of the furniture is silver. The ornate triggerguard shows a chiseled hanging game scene. Wood retains most varnish. The original silver-tipped ramrod is present and appears to be made of horn. Fitted in a French case made of fancy burl wood with a brass plaque on top marked “Le Chevalier Hoy”. Recess in the case for the lock plates. Complete with accoutrements. Case has a crack on the top and the lining has wear. Beautiful outfit!
