MR1662 SHARPS & HANKINS CIVIL WAR NAVY CARBINE; 24 inch round barrel in 52 RF caliber. Blade front sight and elevator rear sight. Mechanically sound with a nice crisp action! Dark bore. Barrel surface has antique pitted texture which is common on these old S&H carbines. Metal on frame is much smoother with light pitting and an even dark gray patina. Brass buttplate fits well along the sides but poorly at top and bottom. Age crack visible on left side of stock yet this good looking wood is still quite solid. Overall gun has signs of age but still a nice little gun.
