LM19 BEAUTIFUL FACTORY ENGRAVED MODEL 99 SAVAGE TAKEDOWN RIFLE; This gun was formerly in the Wes Adams collection. It is believed to have been an exhibition gun. There is no notation in the ledger of it having been made. That is quite typical for Savage exhibition guns. Gun is in 32-40 caliber. It has a 26 inch round barrel and typical Savage sights. Halfway up the barrel is an area of blemish. Beautiful fancy uncheckered wood with a rifle style buttplate. Lever retains about 95% bright case colors. The entire receiver and takedown ring are matted. This is rare. In the center of the the receiver is the oak leaf style engraving that is seen on some of the Savages. Bore is excellent. Gun retains about 95% original blue. I have not seen another one like this.
MODERN $ 9,500.
