C385 COLT LIGHTNING MEDIUM FRAME “BABY” CARBINE IN .44 CAL; Scarce Baby carbine with 20 inch barrel chambered in 44-40 caliber. Good bore that is bright with decent rifling and shows a few small ares of light pitting. Smaller profile Barleycorn type front sight and adjustable ladder rear.Equipped with a saddle ring and carbine butt and sling swivel eyes. Metal surfaces show a good deal of finish starting to turn brown with handling marks and a couple ares with some freckles. Walnut stocks are solid showinga couple chips withgouges and other handling marks. This Baby weighs 5 pounds 8 ounces and was made in 1891.
