W2528 VERY FINE 2ND MODEL HENRY RIFLE; 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 RF caliber with a bore that has visible rifling but some scattered pitting throughout. Sights include a blade front and 900 Yard folding ladder rear. Barrel has sharp corners and excellent markings with 65-75% bright blue that is starting to turn in areas. Dark butterscotch color receiver is untouched and the sideplates fit perfect. Lever has turned a dark color and the hammer shows traces of case color. Rifle was even inspected by Oliver Winchester himself. Good functioning action. Walnut stock retains most original varnish and has a very pronounced “Henry Bump”. All screws are good and all matching numbers including on the inside tang area. Correct sling swivels. 9k serial number shows it was made in June of 1865. A beautiful original Henry!
