W4527 WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 RIFLE IN 40-60 WCF; 28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 40-60 WCF caliber with a bore that has some shine and light frosting to the rifling. Sights include a bone blade front and “1876” marked folding ladder rear with a Vernier tang. Barrel and full length magazine tube are a blue turning brown with age patina with more blue in the protected areas. Receiver has a fair amount of blue in the protected areas with the balance fading to brown. Hammer and lever have traces of case colors. Faded blue on the loading gate. Crisp functioning action. Walnut stock set is in good condition with some light handling mars and a steel shotgun style buttplate. An honest looking Winchester rifle that was made in 1886.
