W4506 WINCHESTER FIRST MODEL 1873 SRC IN 44 WCF; Standard 20 inch round barrel carbine configuration chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a good bore that has spots of light roughness and good rifling. Sights include a blade front that is integral to the front barrel band and a two-leaf rear. Barrel and magazine tube are a brown color with good markings. Receiver is a brown/gray color with some scattered patches of light pitting. Replacement thumbprint dust cover. Some buggered screws. Original saddle ring. Hammer and lever have a hint of case color. Walnut stocks are in good condition with handling mars as well as a little shy around the buttplate. Mechanically it functions fine. The 12k serial range shows it was made in 1876. No cleaning rod in the butt. An early example of “The Gun That Won The West”.
