W4494 CUSTOM ENGRAVED AND RESTORED WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 RIFLE; 26 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 RF caliber with a relined bore that has near excellent rifling. Sights include a German silver rocky mountain blade front and a folding ladder rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube have been reblued and retain most of that finish. Brass receiver has been polished bright and has full coverage aftermarket engraving with highlights that are done in the style of Louis D. Nimschke. Sides of the receiver feature shell designs with scroll and punch dot backgrounds and fancy boarders.Top and bottom of the receiver are also engraved. Tight fitting side plate. Loading gate is blue. Crisp functioning action. Straight grain walnut stocks have a very good refinish and look good. Brass rifle style buttplate and forend cap are also engraved. Complete with Sling swivels and a four piece cleaning rod in the butt. This customized 3rd Model 1866 rifle was made in 1873 and has a nice flashy appearance.
