W4438 WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 SRC; Standard 20 inch carbine configuration chambered in 44 RF caliber. Bore has shine and distinct rifling with some very minor scattered pitting. Sights include a blade front that is integral to the barrel band and a folding two-leaf rear. Winchester barrel address is visible but faint. Barrel is a gray/brown patina while the full length magazine tube is slightly more blue. Brass receiver has beautifully aged to a dark mustard patina with numerous minor dings from usage on the frontier in the Wild West. Hammer and lever are mostly brown with some gray. Loading gate has good fire blue remaining. Original saddle ring is present. Nice crisp functioning action. Nice looking walnut stock set shows a little extra figure with some scattered minor dings and scratches and still fits proud to the metal. Brass crescent buttplate matches the receiver. This is just a good looking Third Model 1866 carbine that was made in 1869.
