W4225 WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 1876 RIFLE IN 45-60 CALIBER; 28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 45-60 caliber with a good bore. Sights include a gold combination Beech front and an “1876” marked folding leaf rear with a Lyman folding peep on a heavy base tang. Barrel retains about 50% of the blue with the balance thinning to a smooth brown patina. Sharp markings. Special order half magazine. About 85% of the original vivid case colors remain with some fading on the top of the receiver. Loading gate still has most blue remaining. Dust cover still has some original blue finish. Hammer and lever have very good case colors as well as the forend cap. Set trigger that works. Special order sling swivels. Highly figured fancy grain walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with Winchester “Style H” checkering are in very fine condition and retain most of the original high polish piano finish. Crisp checkering with scattered minor dents and handling mars. Very good case colors are present on the crescent style buttplate. Comes with a factory letter stating features and that it was made in 1885. This is one of only 1,480 Caehardened rifles in this caliber and one of only 540 with the half magazine.
