This gun was formerly owned by Santa Claus himself. Only in production for a year, fewer than 5,000 Model 1888 rifles were made. Only one other possible Factory Engraved 1888 rifle has surfaced, but the quality is no where near the quality of this gun. Factory records indicate it was shipped on December 19, 1888, just in time for Christmas.
