MR1781 U.S. SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR SRC; 22 inch round barrel chambered in 45-70 caliber with a good bore with scattered fine oxidation throughout the 3 groove rifling. Sights include a pinned blade front and the standard “C” marked Buffington rear. Barrel has a period reapplied rust blue patina with faint markings. Breech block is a dark gray-brown patina and is marked “U.S.Model 1873”. Lockplate is a dark blue/gray patina with visible markings. The walnut stock has some scattered dings and scuffs throughout with no visible markings. There are no cleaning rods or shell extractor in the butt. Mechanically functions well.
