MR1711 CUSTOM MAUSER ACTION SAFARI RIFLE CHAMBERED IN .458 EXPRESS; Built on a classic Mauser bolt-action mechanism with 21-1/2 inch round barrel with a threaded muzzle that is chambered in .458 EXP. 2 1/2 caliber with a bright shiny bore that has strong rifling. (.458 caliber cartridge with a 2 1/2-inch case length directly corresponds with the standard .458 Winchester Magnum). Sights include a ramped and hooded brass bead blade front with QD turnoff scope mounts with peep rear sight at rear that doubles as an anchor for rear scope ring. Fitted with a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x SFP scope with duplex reticle with clear optics. Mauser action and barrel retain most all of a reapplied blued finish with some scattered surface wear. Left side of barrel is marked .458 EXP. 2 1/2″ and 1001 serial number applied to the receiver. Custom walnut stock with a black composite forearm cap is checkered in about the forearm area and wrist of the pistol grip with blued steel pistol grip cap. Cheekpiece and a brown Decelerator pad with black line spacer. Sling eyes. Mechanically fine.
