MR1643 EXTREMELY RARE ALLEN & WHEELOCK PERCUSSION RIFLE; Flayderman states fewer than 100 of these were ever made. This is the first one that I have ever owned. 44 caliber 26 inch part octagon barrel. Frontier replacement triggerguard and repairs to stock. Refinished stock has solid cracks and some losses. Hammer does not stay cocked. Metal has been polished long ago and is now aged to a nice antique gray patina. Nice brass-tipped ramrod. Original buttplate. Good manufacturer markings. This old gun has a lot of character and is quite rare!
