MHG1112 SMITH & WESSON .455 MK II HAND EJECTOR SECOND MODEL BRITISH CONTRACT; The British Contract Smith & Wesson Second Model Mark II .455 Hand Ejector is a  double action large frame revolver and features a 6-1/2 inch round barrel chambered in 455 Webley caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. All metal surfaces retain most all of the original blue showing just some very light edge wear. The hammer and trigger still have vivid case colors. All markings are crisp and intact showing the proper British Commonwealth inspector markings including the broad arrow acceptance stamps, crown inspection marks, and nitro proof marks (crossed flags) stamped on the frame and cylinder. The checkered walnut grips with gold S&W medallions fit well and are in very fine condition with some very minor handling marks on the bottoms. Action functions well. These were made for the British and Commonwealth forces during WW1 from 1915-1917 with approximately 69,754 units were made to supplement wartime sidearm shortages. This is a very nice example!
