MERZ101 WELL DOCUMENTED STEVENS NEW MODEL TIP UP POCKET RIFLE; Originally owned and engraved by George Jacob Glahn. He gifted the gun to his wife who later (in 1930) gave it to Frederica Glahn. Frederica kept the gun in the family for another 68 years. The panel scenes feature a rabbit, a squirrel, a coon and a quail. All very well done This is probably the most elaborate Stevens I have seen. The shoulder stock also shows the same style engraving even though one of the numbers is off. No doubt a factory error. This gun is in superb condition. The 12 inch part octagon barrel has a very good bore in caliber 25 Stevens. Barrel retains about 90% blue. The nickel plated frame has a good amount of nickel remaining. Rosewood grips are in fine condition with typical handling mars. Original front sight. The rear sight has had a repair.
There is a notarized letter from Mrs. Ralph Glahn as well as some copied pictures and a letter from Larry Wilson complementing the craftsmanship of the Glahn family. Included is an obituary for Wilbur Glahn. This is a nice outfit. Seldom do you find these types of items with good documentation. This one has that making it extra special.
