M853 FINE HIGH QUALITY SCOTTISH VICTORIAN ERA DRESS REGALIA; 1880-1890’s era. Includes a pistol, a dirk, horn, kilt, jacket, sporran, hats and belts. This is from the clan “McIntosh”. The entire outfit is very high quality and in very fine condition. The kilts are hand sewn and approximately a 40 inch waist. The jacket is of equal quality and in excellent condition. There are numerous “McIntosh” badges with the “M” ensign on them. The quality of the sporran cantle and other metal work all look like later German Silver. Similarly, the cloth, definitely appears later. So too the jacket buttons. There is the likelihood that this is in fact a composite outfit that has been pieced together. The crest on the sporran is MacDonald, the tartan is MacKintosh and the bonnet badge is Clan Chattan/MacPherson. There is an amazing amount of information about these types of items from Peter at:
