M1148 ARTILLERY OFFICER’S SABER]; 27 inch curved blade etched with gilded floral motifs and military trophies on a blue background. The plated brass hilt has an Eagle head pommel and a plain D-shaped guard. Brass is dark with traces of original silver plating. Fluted ivory grips have turned an aged cream color with a chip missing on the back side. Black leather scabbard is in fair condition. The mounts are tarnished brass and the tip has come loose from the leather. The frog stud is bent and the rear mounting pins are missing. Carrying rings are present. A good example of an artillery officer’s saber.
