$12,375.00

C478 ANTIQUE COLT LONDON SAA IN VERY SCARCE 476 ELEY CALIBER ; 5-1/2 inch round barrel chambered in very scarce .476 ELEY caliber with a shiny bore with well defined rifling. Smaller and lower black powder profile blade front sight. Most all of a period retailer full nickel plating remains on the revolver. Nice crisp one-line “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON” markings on the barrel. Nickel plated frame and hammer have a good amount of that finish. London proofs are marked on the underside of the barrel and behind each cylinder flute. Colt three-line Patent date markings on left side of frame are crisp as well as the “476 CAL” marked on the left side of the trigger guard. Cylinder has some spots of wear and flaking. Correct factory checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt logos and patriotic eagles are fine with light wear. Crisp functioning action. Colt shipped Single Action Army revolvers to England for sale through its London Agency. The London proofed SAAs were usually stamped at the bottom of the barrel and in each flute of the cylinder and had a high-quality nickel or blue finish. This Intermediate Black Powder Colt was made in 1887 and should fill a hole in most Colt collections as only 163 total 476-caliber SAAs were produced and only 5 of them in this specific barrel length and finish combination.
