7-257 THE FINEST ENGRAVED REMINGTON KEENE DELUXE RIFLE KNOWN TO EXIST; This gun was found in Switzerland by Ron Romenela about 25 years ago and has lived in my collection ever since. It is elaborately exhibition quality engraved. Features tight scrollwork on about half the barrel as well as half the receiver. The floorplate and trigger guard are elaborately engraved also along with the forend cap and buttplate. Beautifully stocked in deluxe burl walnut and retain most all the original factory varnish. Checkering is sharp. This rifle shows very little use. Metal retains most all blue overall. A good amount of thinning case color on the buttplate. Vivid case color on the hammer and trigger. 24 inch half octagon barrel with full length mag tube. 45-70 caliber. Typical Remington flip up rear barrel sight and gold Beachs front sight. Just a sensational gun inside and out. Only about 5,000 Keene bolt action rifles made between 1880-1888 and only 1 like this. Center piece of any high end Remington collection.
ANTIQUE $ 57,500.
