Original sporting front sight with nickel silver blade and short tang sporting rear. Half length tube magazine. Second model color case hardened receiver show’s about 30% original case colors with the balance a mottled brown grey patina. Plain walnut forearm with matching straight grip buttstock fitted with a smooth shotgun style buttplate. Shotgun style butts were standard on second model 1873’s chambered in 38 WCF from introduction until the 145,000 serial range. The stocks show a few handling marks but are solid and full fitting. Comes with a factory letter showing it was manufactured in 1881 as featured.
