W3047  VERY RARE VOLCANIC PISTOL CARBINE; Early production serial number 25 Volcanic lever action pistol carbine with a 16-1/2 inch octagon barrel chambered in 41 caliber that has a very good shiny bore with good rifling and some scattered roughness. These fired the self contained “Rocket Ball”. Features a nicely crowned muzzle face. The side of the barrel is stamped “THE VOLCANIC / REPEATING ARMS CO. / PATENT” . Integral magazine below the barrel. Sights include a blade front and adjustable elevation notch rear. Barrel and magazine tube assembly have traces of blue remaining in the protected areas with the balance a plum/brown patina. Receiver is silver plated and retains most of that silver finish. Grips are modern replacements that fit good and are even marked “25”. Action functions properly.  Carbine stock is in very good condition with most varnish. A few light handling mars but sound and solid. The screw that holds the shank is a brass replacement. Correct buttplate. Fairly scarce gun with production numbers are estimated to be less than 100.
