W4563 WINCHESTER 3rd MODEL 1873 RIFLE CHAMBERED FOR 22 LONG [A]

$15,000.00

24 inch octagon barrel. Full length tube magazine. Original No. 21 Sporting front sight with nickel silver insert and No. 22 Sporting rear. Features a set trigger and a crescent rifle buttplate fit on plain walnut straight grip buttstock with matching forearm. Originally manufactured in 1887, this rifle was factory refurbished some time after 1905 complete with a new barrel as it bears factory “WP” proof marks on top of action and top of the barrel and has the Winchester barrel address and 22 LONG caliber marking on the upper left barrel flat rather than on the top. Stock fit is excellent and the inside lower tang, upper tang inlet of buttstock and inside heel of the buttplate all showing matching assembly number “968”. The rifle appears to have seen little to no use after the work. The buttplate shows only light wear at the heal and the forearm cap shows just a touch of lightly flaking finish with all other metal surfaces showing 98% deep dark finish. The bore is excellent, mirror bright and shiny with strong rifling. The stocks are clean, solid and full fitting showing only a few very light handling marks.  Beautiful 22 caliber Winchester 1873 rifle…   hard to find another this fine!
