W4394 FIRST YEAR WINCHESTER MODEL 53 RIFLE IN DESIRABLE 44 WCF; 22 inch tapered round barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. Sights include a beaded blade front with a blank in the rear dovetail and an added Marbles folding tang. Barrel has thinning blue toning to grey. 1/2 length magazine tube. Receiver is a dull grey/brown patina. Action is crisp. Straight grip walnut stock is in good condition and proud to the metal with only minor handling mars. A hairline crack on left side of the forearm near the frame. Steel shotgun butt plate. Only 24,916 were made from 1924-1932. This first year 1924 production Model 53 is in the desirable hard to find 44 WCF caliber and has the Takedown frame with an excellent bore. It has everything going for it.
