W4203 WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 RIFLE IN 45-75; 28 inch round barrel chambered in 45-75 caliber with a good shiny bore. Sights include a Lyman ivory bead half moon blade front with an “1876” marked folding ladder rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube retain the majority of their thinning blue with the balance turning plum/brown. Good markings. Receiver also retains thinning blue some cleaned spots of oxidation. Traces of case colors on the hammer and lever. Some good nitre blue on the loading gate. Straight grain walnut stocks are in very good condition with only minor handling mars. Rifle style buttplate. Not a bad looking Winchester that started out life as a 26 inch round barrel chambered in 45-60 caliber that was returned to the factory and changed to the configuration you see today as confirmed by the factory letter. Made in 1884.
