W3826 HEAVY WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 HIGH WALL RIFLE IN 32-40 CALIBER; 29-1/4 inch part round #4 barrel chambered in 32-40 caliber with a very good bore. 50% original thinning blue on barrel turning a pleasing plum color. Hooded front sight with windage adjustment along with a Lyman tang peep sight. Scope blocks are on the barrel along with a blank in the original rear dovetail. Original case colors on receiver are turning mostly a dark gray patina. Single set trigger. Good traces of case color present on the hammer and lever. Includes provision for a palm rest which is not included. Slice of wood missing from front left side of original forearm otherwise wood is solid. Possible replacement buttstock is somewhat oversized. 60% original nickel finish remaining on the brass Swiss style buttplate. 46,XXX serial range.
