W3759 WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER 1873 RIFLE IN CALIBER 44-40; 24 inch heavy octagon barrel chambered in the desirable 44 WCF caliber with a button mag. Bore is about good with some light scattered roughness. The barrel has been shortened by about a 1/4 inch perhaps for accuracy. Sights include Lyman front and sporting rear with a Marbles folding tang sight. Overall metal is in fine condition with about 75% barrel and receiver blue that is starting to tone to a plum color. Crisp tight action. Wood has a few handling mars with a considerable amount of original varnish remaining and a rifle style buttplate. Should make a good shooter.
