W3522 WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE IN 44 WCF CALIBER; 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a full length magazine and about a Good bore with some scattered light pits with generally good rifling throughout. Barrel and mag tube are a plum/brown patina. Sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear. Receiver retains some traces of original blue in the protected areas around the sideplates with the balance turning a gray plum/brown color patina. The edges of the loading gate exhibit some nice fire blue. A screw on the left sideplate is buggered up. The darkened walnut stocks are smooth and show some flaking of some old added varnish. Also has a 2 inch brass decoration of some sort nailed to the left side of the stock. It was nickel plated bit most of that has flaked off. Not sure what it is or what it is for. Action functions properly. Not a bad example of an 1893 working man’s Winchester.
