W2871 WINCHESTER 1873 RIFLE IN CALIBER 38-40; 24 inch round barrel chambered in 38 WCF caliber. Scarce button magazine. Very good bore. Sights include a sporting rear and German silver blade front. Wood shows some use and has some strange cuts next to the frame but is solid with a little shrinkage at the toe. Rifle style buttplate. Metal is very good with good traces of blue on the barrel and 20% blue turning brown on the receiver. Original dust cover is a little loose. Crisp tight action. This Winchester was made in 1888.
