W1066 WINCHESTER SECOND MODEL 1873 SADDLE RING CARBINE CALIBER 44-40; S/N 61,8XX. 44-40 caliber. Nickeled receiver with about 15-20% nickel remaining, balance of metal deep brown coloration. Rifle butt. Butt-stock is solid with typical handling marks and filled hole from sling swivel mount, forearm has a crack along the front bottom back to the carbine band. Bore is fairly bright with scattered light pitting throughout and good rifling. Non-standard fixed rear sight. Elevator marked with some initials.
