Caliber 25-20.Takedown configuration with 20 inch barrel, short takedown forearm, folding tang rear sight and pistol grip checkered deluxe wood. Correct eyes for Winchester sling. Scarce double set trigger. A truly unique gun. Only two guns in this configuration are the known to exist. Both are Deluxe short rifles with the gold border inlays around the receiver and monogram. I first encountered this gun about 45 years ago at the Downtown Denver Show. It was owned by Mac McCroskie of the Denver State Bank at that time.. He stated that there were 2 of these guns given to brothers. Both had the monograms engraved, both short rifles and both had the gold borders. At that time he said he was planning on acquiring the second one but I don’t believe he did since it has not surfaced. “The Art of the Gun Volume IV” page 32 by Robert M. Lee and R.L. Wilson pictures this gun. Gun was also in John Wood’s collection for a number of years. All original gun in Excellent condition with about 98% bright glossy blue. Very light handling mars.
