R2275 INTERESTING COLT/REMINGTON 1911 IN 45 ACP CALIBER; This is a WW1 Colt frame that was made in 1918 with a Remington Rand slide. Pistol has been arsenal refinished and has most of that parkerized finish remaining. Has the newer A1 grips and the arched mainspring housing with a longer grip safety spur that you would find on the Model 1911A1. A few inspector marks but no ” US PROPERTY or UNITED STATES PROPERTY”. When M1911A1 pistols were rebuilt a military facility they were rebuilt without any regard to the maker of the frame, slide or other parts…mix ‘n match, first in – last out, whatever was expedient to get the pistol in and out was the rule of thumb. Pistol has a 5 inch barrel chambered in 45 ACP caliber. Real good bore with strong rifling. Gun is real tight and should make a fine shooter.
