$2,250.00

MR1598 MALCOLM W. LEWIS FLINTLOCK AMERICAN LONG RIFLE IN CALIBER 38;The American long rifle was one of the first commonly used rifles. Rifled firearms were first used in major combat in the American colonies in the eighteenth century during the French and Indian War, and later the American Revolution with increasing use in the War of 1812, Texan Revolution, and American Civil War. This one has a 44 inch octagon barrel that has turned mostly a plum/brown color. The lock plate has some light engraving and a nice aged patina.  Hammer needs some attention to be shootable. The Kentucky style Maple stock is in good condition with some large scrollwork carving on the butt. It has brass furniture including the ram rod retainers,  and an ornate patchbox. Ram rod is in place. This old flintlock has fantastic eye appeal and would look great above your fireplace or in your den!
