MR1038 CIVIL WAR ERA SMITH CARBINE; The Smith patent carbine was one of the many guns ordered by the Union Army during the Civil War. Most have the same markings as this one. “Mass. Arms Co” and “Poultney & Trimble” marking and also the Smith patent. A decent gun with most bbl blue. Bbl band is a grey/brown color. Light freckling to the metal throughout. Still some case colors but most have aged to a medium grey/brown. Decent wood with visible cartouches. Rather dark from oil staining. Overall good cond. A chip missing where the stock meets the frame on the top.
ANTIQUE $ 2,995.
