MHG951 VERY FINE CASED PRESENTATION REVOLVER BY PURDEY; This revolver has been identified as belonging to Lt. Col. Archibald Campbell Campbell 1st Baron of Blythswood. Gun is in beautiful condition. 4-1/2 inch barrel in caliber 38 CF. Marked on top of the barrel is “JAS PURDEY. 314 1/2 OXFORD ST. LONDON”. Metal retains about 90% bright glossy blue. English style engraving covers about half of the receiver and cylinder with engraved accents at the end of the barrel. Cylinder and grip cap are case hardened and show a good amount of that color though faded some. Revolver is fitted in a leather case with a Purdey label inside lid. Case is in good condition and embossed with “LT Col Cambell/ Blythswood” on the top. Cartridge block, cleaning rod and oiler included. An old auction listing and some printed info on Lt. Campbell come with the revolver. An interesting gun.
