MHG659 EXTRAORDINARY ORNATE TURKISH FLINTLOCK PISTOL; Gold, silver and high quality workmanship describe this pistol. This is what looks like engraving but is instead very intricate metal work done on the whole gun. How this was accomplished? It certainly came from the hands of some Master Craftsman of the period. Caliber is about 60. Overall condition is VG. Barrel is silvery and has likely been cleaned. It does show the Damascus pattern on the barrel. The hammer and flintlock springs are very heavy from years of not using them. I doubt that this gun was used very much at all if any. It looks like it may have been some sort of a presentation gun for someone very important. Please take a close look at the photos. The intricate metal work is simply amazing!
