It has been cleaned and is a silver grey/color. The strange part is that it looks like it may have been engraved with the engraving being lost to wear and cleaning. Not sure? The gun does cock and index. The right hand grip is broken with half missing. The other side is quite nice. A lot of hand guns in the old days were not Colts. There were other quality makers out there and Whitney was one of them.
