MHG1004 A VERY FINE PAIR OF ENGLISH MADE DUCK-FOOT FLINTLOCK PISTOLS MARKED COLLIS OF OXFORD; Each pistol has four 3-3/8 inch cannon shaped barrels. The barrels on the first pistol are numbered 1-4 and on the second pistol 5-8. Both pistols are fitted with fruitwood stocks and have silver filigree wire elaborately inlaid. The silver buttcaps are hallmarked with a grotesque looking character. Overall metal has been cleaned some time ago with just some light roughness starting to show. Both are fitted with silver trigger guards. Each has an empty silver oval at the top of the grip. Mechanics are excellent. The Hallmarks are for Birmingham sterling, date mark 1778-9 and Maker Richard Bickley. A matched pair like this is uncommon and this is one of the better pairs I have seen.
ANTIQUE $ 22,500. for the Pair
