C387 COLT LIGHTNING MEDIUM FRAME SLIDE ACTION RIFLE IN 32-20; 26 inch round barrel chambered in 32 caliber with a good bore that is near bright with scattered light to moderate pitting and good rifling. Barrel shows about 60% thinning finish starting to turn brown. Sights include a replacement hunter’s style front with German silver insert and original sporting rear with a tang mount graduated peep. Magazine tube shows about 70% finish with a few light dents near the end. Receiver is the early style before dust covers and shows about 70% finish with very light freckling. Traces of case color on the hammer. Walnut slide handle and buttstock show light cleaning. Features a rifle butt. Good looking early example made in 1885.
