C337 BEAUTIFUL CASED SMALL FRAME COLT RIFLE IN CALIBER 22; Gun has English proofs as well as a Colt Letter stating it was shipped to Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Mfg Company London Agency March 26, 1896. Letter also states 22 Rimfire, 24 inch Octagon configuration, Blue finish, Full pistol grip, checkered wood. Special features are the Colt peep and Beach combination sights. Beautifully cased in a leather case with Holland & Holland label inside. Most of the lining is in tact. Accessories include a cleaning rod and oil bottle as well as some Eley 22 caliber cartridges. On the outside are the initials “E.V.F.”. Gun is in fantastic condition. 24 inch round barrel retains about 95% blue with a very good bore. Original sights. Receiver retains about 98% blue with vivid case color on the hammer. Trigger guard is starting to tone slightly. Walnut stocks have good checkering and most lacquer remaining. Correct hard rubber shotgun style buttplate. Mechanics are excellent. This one is excellent inside and out. A Colt letter accompanies the outfit that is addressed to Dr. Chester Bonoff who was a great old collector from days gone by. He had some of the best Colt’s in the world.
