C1736 EXTREMELY RARE COLT EXHIBITION ENGRAVED PANEL NICKEL PLATED SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER; Caliber 45. 7-1/2 inch barrel. checkered Ivory grips. Overall gun is elaborately and delicately engraved by Augustus Friedrich Ulrich who is known to have done a number of the panel scene guns. There is only 6-7 of them known. Quite elaborately engraved with about 75-80% coverage. Panel scene of a bear being shot by a hunter on one side of the frame and a dog and wildlife scene on the other. On top of the backstrap is a mounted Indian with full headdress. Gun is in beautiful shape with most original nickel intact. One of the best guns that I have had. This gun is no doubt a factory show or exhibition gun. It is in the 32k serial range which a number of these are in. The engraving is far superior to anything I have seen Colt do. There are two Colt Factory Letters on this gun and an extensive R.L. Wilson letter. Call for details.
