Cal 30-30. Original 26" full oct bbl, full length mag tube. Original sights and a fine bore. Overall gun is beautifully and elaborately engraved by the easily identified Alvin White. It is signed in the typical inlaid bar of gold at the bottom of the frame "A A White." The serial numbers are gold inlaid. A cougar scene inlaid in gold is also signed A A White. Gold initials "H E S" stand for Harry Eugene Shepard. Shepard was the leader of a very famous group of pilots known as the Redhawks. They were an Aerobatics team quite well known for touring air shows around the country. Harry was the captain of the Redhawks who, along with 2 other pilots performed formations in identical Meteor 260s. At the time, they had the only 3 Meteor 260s in the country. At no time during their show were they more than 2 feet apart at the wings. Mr. Shepard is the individual who commissioned Alvin White to engrave this gun. The gun is re-stocked with fancy Burl wood and it is carved and checkered. Overall gun is in new condition. Expertly re-finished, it retains 99% light glossy finish. An outstanding gun, identified to a well-known individual. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

.30 Caliber. Full round bbl, full mag, VG bore, traces blue in protected areas, balance of metal is a plum gray patina. Sheard front and buckhorn rear sights, shotgun butt, VG wood. This gun has two magazine retaining rings. I have only encountered this a couple times before. (9323-17-100) WINCHESTER MODEL 64
Cal 30 WCF. The M-64 is regarded by many to be the finest of the 1894 family. This gun here somewhat proves that these are a fine hunting machine. This gun has been used and carried quite a bit. It certainly was somebody's hunting rifle. The stock displays numerous usage marks, scrapes, etc. Is nice and sound as is the forearm. Several dents but no cracks or losses of wood. Thinning blue covers most of the bbl. Metal is nice and smooth and clean. Receiver has good blue towards the back half of it. Front half at the carry point has been worn to a greyish coloration. On the upper tang are some identification numbers and letters evidently from some operation ID type program. Receiver has a Redfield sight mounted in the factory holes. Bbl blank in the rear dovetail and the standard ramp front. VG+ bore. Nice action. Good old gun! e

(8804-17-93) WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 SPECIAL ORDER SHORT RIFLE WITH VERY SCARCE 16" FULL OCTAGON BBL AND FULL LENGTH MAGAZINE TUBE
Caliber 30-30. I don't think I've had one of these for probably 25 years; very scarce gun that features the correct 7-1/2" which is the shortest of the two short rifle forearms. Express 3-leaf sight missing one leaf; blade front sight. Orig wood shows the usual amount of wear with a few nicks and gouges but is sound, solid with no splits or cracks; complete with what I'm positive is the orig carbine style buttplate-why not a carbine BP on a 16" short rifle? The last one I had, also had a carbine butt, as well as a saddlering. Decent, clean little gun with 25% blue in the protected areas on the bbl and mag; receiver is just a plum brown coloration with exc screws, no signs of pitting or any other abuse to the metal. (8404-17-71) HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT WINCHESTER MODEL 94 PISTOL GRIP DELUXE PRESENTATION LIGHTWEIGHT RIFLE
A plaque inlaid in the stock states that this gun was presented by seven prominent politicians and businessmen to Catherine Sherwood. The names include former presidential candidate William J. Bryan, Missouri governor W. J. Stone, Missouri Secretary of State and Senator S. B. Cook, US Senator J. A. Reed who was also the mayor of KCMO, and others. These gentlemen were all instrumental in the founding of the St. Louis Game Park, which is now known as the Drury-Mincy Conservation Area. Perhaps Mrs. Sherwood donated some land to the game park or helped them in some other way. 24" extra rapid taper lightweight full octagon bbl, half length magazine tube, 3-leaf platinum lined rear and typical Winchester front sights, exc bore. Orig pistol grip checkered deluxe wood is in VG cond with a light coat of varnish having been added at one time; not sanded or undersized. Very nice little gun with 75% toning bbl blue and 50% receiver blue turning plummish brown. Rare configuration. It makes sense that an extra lightweight rifle would have been made for a woman. It is quite unusual to find a presentation piece involving so many well-known individuals.
